They headed to Lubbock to take on a Texas Tech team that traditionally fields one of the best passing offenses in the country. That is as true now under new head coach Kliff Kingsbury as it was under former leaders Mike Leach and Tommy Tuberville.
But there was no aerial assault by the home team on Saturday, as TCU clamped down in the air and prevented Texas Tech from gaining any momentum with its passing game. The end result was a runaway 27-3 victory for the Horned Frogs, as they shut out the Red Raiders for over 50 minutes after giving up a nine-minute opening drive that led only to a field goal.
