Texas A&M Football: 3 takeaways from win over Ole Miss in Week 12
2. Jordan Wilkins could be playing on Sundays
The Aggies started to figure out Ole Miss’s gameplan in the second half. Shut down Wilkins and you’re good to go. However, he still finished the game with nearly 150 rushing yards and one touchdown.
If Wilkins had been able to keep up his production from the first half, the Rebels would have won this game. This was the third time in the last four contests that Wilkins went over 115 rushing yards and notched at least one touchdown.
However, there is no end goal for Wilkins this year. Ole Miss cannot make it to a bowl game and there’s no fighting for a top spot in the SEC West. He’ll run out of eligibility after this season as well.
With all the momentum that Wilkins has going right now, NFL scouts should start to take notice soon. He’s a running back that provides value in both the run and pass game. Plus, he’s the best rusher that Ole Miss had in quite a while.
