West Virginia football’s Will Grier left the Texas game in Week 12 with a nasty finger injury and will not return. Watch the video here.

Dana Holgoren might be looking for a miracle to end the season as West Virginia football must attempt to beat Texas on Saturday afternoon as well as win next week at Oklahoma potentially without starting quarterback Will Grier.

The Florida transfer suffered one of the ugliest finger injuries in recent memory against the Texas Longhorns Saturday during a potential scoring drive that came up empty.

Grier’s hand was hit in the process and it jerked his finger out of place. It has been since ruled a broken finger, but man, it was ugly. This could derail a great season for the first-year Mountaineer gunslinger.

Watch the nasty hand injury here (warning this is not for the faint of heart):

After taking a hit to the hand, which resulted in the broken finger, Grier jogged off the field, raising his arm in the air. Clearly Texas players were disgusted by the sight as they quickly turned away and even Grier’s teammate told him to put his hand down.

Unfortunately for Grier, he was ruled out for the remainder of the game and could miss next week’s game, too, depending on how tough it will be for him to play with that wrapped up.

That was one of the ugliest hand injuries you’ll ever see as his finger was completely turned in the opposite direction. Grier was replaced by Chris Chugunov and could very well be starting next week as well.
