1. Wisconsin is the real deal

The Badgers entered the game with essentially no respect from the national media. They were 10-0 before facing off against No. 24 Michigan in Madison and the playoff committee still had them outside the top four at No. 5 overall.

Everyone wanted to see a “signature” win by the Badgers instead of beating up on cupcakes like Purdue, Minnesota, Maryland, Illinois and Indiana, but they took care of business through the first 10 weeks. Wisconsin had no control over the softness of its schedule, but rather it’s the Big Ten’s fault for the conference alignment.

The Badgers got their first true test last weekend against an Iowa team that dismantled Ohio State at home and had no problem with the Hawkeyes, winning by double-digits. The committee was still unimpressed.

Well, after beating Michigan 24-10, there should be no doubt about the legitimate threat this Wisconsin team poses in the playoff race.
