2008 SEC Championship

Florida Gators def. Alabama Crimson Tide, 31-20
Dec. 6, 2008

It was the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide returning to the SEC Championship Game for the first time since 1999, and right behind them in the standings was their opponent, the No. 2 Florida Gators.

This was one of several SEC Championship games which was essentially a play-in to the BCS National Championship game, and neither team was willing to give that chance up easily.

The Tide trailed at halftime for the first time all season, but came back with 10 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter to take a 20-17 lead heading into the final frame.

But, the Gators had Tim Tebow, and as so often was the case in 4th quarters, it was Tebow Time. The Gator legend took the game and his team and placed them on his back, throwing for a touchdown and running for a second to give the Gators a 31-20 win and a ticket to the BCS title game, which they would end up winning.
