We are one week closer to finding out who will play in the College Football Playoff, as the committee released the latest Top-25.

Alabama, as expected, remained No. 1 heading into Saturday’s Iron Bowl with sixth-ranked Auburn. The winner takes on No. 7 Georgia in two weeks for the SEC Championship and a spot in the final four.

Behind the Tide, though, was a change. Unbeaten Miami, fresh off a convincing win over Virginia, moved one spot ahead of future ACC Championship game foe Clemson.

The Tigers, who stepped out of conference play last week to meet The Citadel, are seeking a third consecutive national championship game appearance after upsetting Alabama last year.

Oklahoma was slotted at No. 4 with Wisconsin right behind. After the Tigers and Bulldogs are Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State to complete the Top-10.

Honestly, the committee has done a fine job this year with each release, but of course, there are always some changes that could be made.

Here are four teams who were “snubbed” this week:

Granted, beating Virginia was a much better win for the resume compared to that of The Citadel, but should it have really changed what we knew going in?

Miami and Clemson will meet in December for the ACC title and the idea that both would make the final four was pretty far-fetched anyway. The idea now, though, with the Tigers being behind the Hurricanes could help Miami if the game is close and others fall by the wayside.

Clemson is a two-time finalist having secured the national title last year. With each passing win, the win over Auburn from September looks better and better.
