4. Kelly struggles with big personalities

Call it whatever you want. SEC football is all about the players and big time national coverage. Surely, the star players that play at Florida or anywhere in the SEC get to experience the full gamut when playing there. In other words, these players have been recruited hard by many a universities and know that many of Gators have went on to the NFL.

To clarify, players that go out there in “The Swamp” understand that the cameras are on them. Egos come by the dozen for sure. Whomever the next coach for the Florida Gators is going to be will have to demonstrate he can handle plenty of egos.

Guard Evan Mathis played for Chip Kelly. He didn’t exactly give a term of endearment on this specific issue.

"His impatience with certain personality types even when they were blue-chip talents. The Broncos team I was on would have eaten Chip alive. I don’t think he could have handled the plethora of large personalities."

Of course, this is just one person who didn’t exactly part ways on a positive note. That being said, there have been others that have cited such concerns. Regardless if true, the chatter is out there.
