Florida Gators: 5 reasons Chip Kelly isn’t right fit for Gators head coach

3. The run game would be essentially abandoned

Chip Kelly’s offense at Oregon was a lot of no huddle, vertical passing. He’s known to hurry up to the line of scrimmage to run plays. The clock is irrelevant. The problem with that type of thinking is the extra pressure on the defense.

Also, the run and shoot may not work against the SEC. The defenses are fast with cornerbacks, loving the opportunity to have extra chances to intercept passes.

Sooner or later, the offensive linemen could get winded too. The linemen in the SEC are built like NFL guys. These big guys may get frustrated with no rest all of the time. Recruiting linemen to fit the new scheme would be a chore, too. Kelly is an innovative genius, but once again his new changes would take time. Patience is not something the Gator fans have right now.
