Florida Gators: 5 reasons Chip Kelly isn’t right fit for Gators head coach

2. Personality clashes with expectations

Anyone that walks through the door in Gainesville will always gonna be compared to the ole ball coach Steve Spurrier. That just comes with the territory. That being said, Chip Kelly is the exact opposite of Steve Spurrier.

Actually, no one can be Spurrier, but Kelly doesn’t exactly make your hair stand up straight. Above all, Gainesville is gonna have a hard time accepting a coach that started at Columbia University. Going from Columbia to Florida is sorta like comparing Bill Gates to Bill Cosby. In addition, the coach that just got fired Jim McElwain is more like Kelly.

Consequently, this won’t sit well with Gator fans. If Kelly can start winning fast then all bets are off. Winning cures everything. On the other hand, if things go south quickly, fans are gonna turn on Kelly quick.
