4. The Aggies have plenty of other strong teams to play

The biggest argument for the Lone Star Showdown is the boost of schedule strength. While that may be true for the Longhorns, a team who plays one or two decent teams in the Big 12, it would seem as if the Aggies are doing just fine building a strong schedule without the Longhorns match up on Thanksgiving. The Aggies are currently heading on the road to face off against the likes of LSU at night in Death Valley. That’s plenty strong enough for me.

This team also will play the likes of Clemson next season. They faced off against UCLA the last two years. They play Alabama on a yearly basis. The Aggies have plenty of big games on their seasons schedule and are doing just fine without adding the Longhorns as a “schedule booster.”
