5. Track record of PAC-12 success

Kelly is obviously one of the most successful coaches in the PAC-12 over the past decade. He took Oregon from a mediocre team year in and year out in the conference and turned the Ducks into a national powerhouse and recognizable brand all over the country.

Under Kelly, Oregon had a high-powered offense and speed and athleticism all over the field. While Kelly’s defenses weren’t always the best, his offenses were always among the best in the nation. Dual threat quarterbacks were the niche for Kelly in Eugene.

UCLA does have a recent track record of success at the quarterback position between Rosen and current Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Hundley. That gives Kelly some optimism in terms of implementing his offensive scheme with the Bruins.

While the Bruins do normally have the talent available to make a run at the PAC-12 Championship, the team always seems to falter in conference play. Kelly would be able to get the Bruins back to the point of contention in the PAC-12.
