3. Recruiting advantage with a good program

Mora was a decent recruiter with the Bruins. He was able to bring in talents like Josh Rosen, Darren Andrew, Soso Jamabo, etc. And, that’s just on the current roster. UCLA is an attractive place to attend college and recruits notice that.

Bringing in Kelly would immediately attract some of the best recruits in the nation. Specifically on the west coast, UCLA would gain one of the biggest recruiting advantages in the nation. Oregon was hard to compete with when Kelly was in Eugene.

Building a solid foundation starts with recruiting to change the culture of a program. Kelly’s impact would be felt immediately and an already talented roster would get even better. The Bruins were ranked in the top 25 at one point this year, and with good reason.

UCLA has the recognition of having both a huge athletic program and a great campus to be on. The Bruins are not shy to landing four-star recruits on a regular basis and Kelly gets to bring in the same sort of players that he did with the Ducks.
