3. Texas A&M vs. No. 18 LSU

This matchup will feature two teams who are looking to spice up their resumé’s going into bowl season with this potential signature win. The Aggies come into this matchup sitting at fourth in the SEC West with a record of 7-4. It has been an up and down season for Texas A&M but this game provides the team with the opportunity to cap off another successful season.

The Aggies are coming off a win where they had to grind and rally back to beat Ole Miss on the road. Texas A&M finds their success as a team through their hard nosed defense. With that being said, redshirt freshman quarterback, Nick Starkel has risen to the occasion.

The LSU Tigers come into this game playing their best football of the season. Coming off a solid victory against Tennessee last week and another win prior to that game against Arkansas. Since getting upset by Troy earlier in the season, LSU is 5-1 since with their only loss coming to Alabama. LSU also sits in the top half of the SEC West standings as they are one spot ahead of the Aggies at third.

The other reason this game is intriguing is because of the head coaches in between the two teams. Each of these coaches have seen themselves on the hot seat at some point throughout this season.

Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin has had to fight for his job in the last couple seasons and some think he should be ousted this year. The problem Sumlin has had is winning in November and when it matters. The Aggies are 3-3 in the backend of their schedule and need this win to prove that they can get the job done when needed. For LSU coach Ed Orgeron on the other hand, his seat isn’t as warm as it was after they lost to Troy. Like I said, LSU has battled back and has put together a very solid season, but a loss like this at home could have fans talking once again.

This game has the potential to be a defensive showdown and each team will be looking for another solid win to add to their resumé going into bowl season.
