UCLA Football 2017: 3 Bold predictions vs Cal in Week 13
1. Ross Bowers throws for more yards than Josh Rosen
There isn’t any debate who the better quarterback is. Josh Rosen will be a first round draft pick if he does decide to forgo his senior season. With a new head coach coming in and the turnover in the program it’s hard to imagine Rosen having much of any reason at all to return for one more year.
Draft aspirations don’t matter on Friday night. In the latest edition of #Pac12AfterDark madness Ross Bowers will get the better of Josh Rosen. As good as Rosen has been, Bowers has been no slouch this season. He ranks third in the Pac-12 in pass attempts per game and averages a little less 40 yards per game fewer than Rosen.
There are going to be a lot of deep shots taken in this game. Both quarterbacks are going to have success, but Bowers will connect on one or two more long plays than Rosen. He doesn’t have to compile a resume that can rival a future first round pick, he just needs to be better on one given night. He’s already bested Luke Falk, why can’t he best Rosen too?
