Best ESPN College GameDay signs Week 13: Alabama vs. Auburn

College GameDay is in Auburn for the Iron Bowl. Let’s see how the Tigers’ fanbase did with their College GameDay signs.

Rivalry week is a boon for College GameDay signs. A good sign is equal parts witty and cutting. You never have more ammo than you do against your biggest rival. The running jokes and insults can take you back years. The question then becomes which rivalry do you choose. This year College GameDay went with the Iron Bowl and it’s hard to argue there is a more contentious rivalry between the fans in all of sports.

An Alabama fan committed arboricide and then called into a radio show to brag about it. More than a week ago, an Alabama fan shot an Auburn fan over an argument about the Iron Bowl. If they are that fired up a week out, imagine the fans that show up to the College GameDay set.

This is College GameDay’s seventh time at the Iron Bowl. However, this is the first time College GameDay has been at an Iron Bowl since 2014 and the first time they have been back at Auburn for any game since the 2013 Iron Bowl that ended in the famous, or infamous depending on what side you are on, “Kick Six.”

Auburn has hosted College GameDay nine times and appeared on the show 18 times. Alabama has been featured on the show a record 41 times. This is the second time this year the Crimson Tide will be featured. They were part of the second game of Week 1 against Florida State.

With a team appearing as much as Alabama, you run the risk of signs getting stale. There is a ton of material for Nick Saban signs, but, like Jim Harbaugh last week in Wisconsin, there have been a billion signs already made about them, so it’s sometimes tough to get an original.
