Louisville Football: 3 Takeaways from Governor’s Cup win over Kentucky
By Shelbie Warr
1. Lamar Jackson owned this game from the first snap
If you weren’t aware, Lamar Jackson is kind of good at football. He is the reigning Heisman winner and could find his way back to New York with his performance against the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon. He finished with 216 yards on 15 for 21 passing and two touchdowns.
Jackson was not sacked even once thanks to his offensive line who played quite a strong game against Kentucky. Look at this touchdown pass, the kid has quite the arm and it showed all four quarters.
Jackson averaged over 10 yards a pass and was also the Cardinals leading rusher with over 150 yards on the day. Those numbers are quite strong for the kid looking for a return trip to New York for the Heisman trophy ceremony. Will that happen? We will have to wait and see. However, he put on a clinic on Saturday against the Wildcats.

Big time win for the Cardinals and for Lamar Jackson’s Heisman hopes. He started fast, played fast for four quarters and never seemed to let up. Look for Jackson, in my opinion, to make the return trip to New York.
