By Shelbie Warr
Texas football fell to Texas Tech in a lackluster offensive performance on Friday night. Here are our three takeaways from the Longhorns’ regular season finale.
Neither of these teams have played particularly well this season, however Texas Tech found a way to take down the Texas with a late game interception. For a conference who isn’t known for their defensive play, these two teams sure played well in that aspect.
However, the offense was lack luster and quiet for both teams. Although it wasn’t their best game of the season, Texas Tech did clinch a bowl with the win. Here are three takeaways from the Friday night match up.
3. Lack of production off turnovers nearly did Texas Tech in.
Texas Tech won the game after two big time turnovers in the final three minutes put the Raiders up for good. However, before that, the Raiders forced two turnovers that ended up with negative production offensively. As a result, the game looked grim heading to halftime.
Despite all that, however, the Raiders found a way to convert on their final two interceptions that put the Longhorns out of contention for good. Both quarterbacks threw two interceptions, but those thrown by Texas proved to be the most costly as the clock hit zero.
