Toledo culminated a 10-win regular season by knocking off defending MAC champion Western Michigan at the Glass Bowl on Black Friday. With all the chaos swirling throughout the country on a wild Week 13, the Rockets will probably vault up into the Top 25 of the College Football Playoff when the selection committee puts out its new rankings on Tuesday.

Logan Woodside had another big game at quarterback for Toledo, going 19-of-29 for 300 yards. He tossed a pair of touchdown passes, though he also threw an interception. Terry Swanson fell just shy of the 100-yard mark, rushing for 94 yards on 21 carries. The Rockets defense held Western Michigan under 300 total yards of offense as they took over the MAC West crown.

The Rockets will now get ready to face surprise MAC East winner Akron in the conference championship game in Detroit next weekend. They are probably out of the running for the Group of Five invitation to a New Year’s Six bowl, but Toledo can take solace in a token spot rounding out the Top 25 this week.
