4. Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald

Once again, we have a great person with a good record. Pat Fitzgerald is Northwestern football. He was a standout linebacker for Northwestern in his college playing days.

And he has single-handedly changed the perception of Northwestern football, but it might be time to find someone that can get them over the hump.

Since 2006, he was an overall record of 86-65 and, after some early bad years of Wildcat football, he’s nearing a .500 record in conference.

Fitzgerald should get a promotion if he steps down as the head coach. Fitzgerald would be the best poster child for Northwestern football, just like the position Steve Spurrier has at Florida. Coach Fitzgerald has recruited his state very well in the recent years and you don’t want the in-state recruits to leave. Then maybe in the next couple of years promote him to the athletic director.
