Texas A&M football has fired Kevin Sumlin, but his tenure in Aggieland had some big moments. Here are the top five games of his career at Texas A&M.
Texas A&M Football is looking for a head coach after letting Kevin Sumlin go. Some are happy, some have millions of questions and others are just downright confused as to what is going down in Aggieland. No matter what you are feeling, Sumlin is out and at this point next years head coach remains a question.
While that is under speculation, let’s take a look at the best moments of Kevin Sumlin’s career at Texas A&M. Before we get to the top five, let’s get through a couple honorable mentions. We start with two season openers that meant quite a bit to the Aggies at the time.
First, we start with the premiere of Kenny Hill against South Carolina in 2014. While that match up ended up being more of a facade than anything, the Aggies trounced South Carolina 52-28. He surpassed Johnny Manziel‘s single game mark at 511 yards on the night and had Aggieland in an uproar of excitement.
We move next to the Arizona State match up in 2015 to open the season. It was the best defensive performance the Aggies have had under Chavis, highlights shown below, and was one of the best games of Myles Garrett‘s three year career in Aggieland as well as one of the best for running back Tra Carson.
Finally, we go to the obvious honorable mention- Arkansas every single season. Texas A&M and Kevin Sumlin absolutely owned the Razorbacks year in and year out. At this point, I think their senior quarterback can still feel the likes of Myles Garrett and Landis Durham chasing him down and throwing him to the turf.
Now, let’s head into the top five games of Kevin Sumlin’s short, yet memorable tenure in Aggieland.
