2. Brett Rypien throws for 350 yards

Make no mistake, this is Brett Rypien’s team. While Rypien has seen his stats slightly decrease in the wake of Cozart’s transfer from Kansas, he is still the more comfortable of the two when it comes to experience with this Boise State offense. Rypien has logged 9,268 passing yards to this point in his career, quite the total for a junior.

While Fresno State does rank within the top 35 in passing yards allowed per game, their success has been somewhat marred by a poor schedule outside of two rough losses to Alabama and Washington on the road. With their best defensive showings coming against the likes of Incarnate Word and New Mexico, there’s not a whole lot to be scared of if you’re Rypien.

Regardless of Fresno State’s defensive prowess, Rypien certainly has the tools to carve the Bulldogs up. The third year junior has reached 350 passing yards five times in his career, and it’s feasible that he accomplishes a similar total this week against Fresno State.

Again, the emergence of Cozart as a viable running option has bit into Rypien’s workload, but the latter may have the chance to exclusively take over the game considering all that is expected to be on the line. Nevertheless, Rypien has all the tools required to put together a 350 yard effort, with a ceiling that may allow for an even greater performance.
