1. Fresno State is limited to less than 100 rushing yards

The key to almost any game can be found in the trenches. Whichever team dominates the line of scrimmage often dominates the game, setting Boise State up for a potentially profitable contest. Again, while Fresno may appear to have a better run defense in a statistical sense, they also have a much more lenient schedule than their Boise opponents.

With that said, Boise State’s defense is much more stout than that of the Bulldogs. While Fresno has put together a solid rushing attack of their own, expect a Bronco defense to suffocate them for the most part. Whether that means limiting them to under 100 yards or not, don’t be surprised to see Fresno’s run game severely under-perform.

Plus, with last week’s game under their belt, expect a more capable Boise State coaching staff to be one step ahead of the Bulldogs at any given moment, including in the fast-pace run game. Playing at Boise should produce a much more different result than the last game, even if it’s due to a rule that has Bulldogs fans up in arms.
