Troy head coach Neal Brown should have been a big target for the Aggies from the start. His huge upset of the LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium was one of the bigger stories of the early season. The Trojans went on to win nine games through the regular season this year.

Since Brown took over, Troy won 10 games last year and could do the same thing this year. This is a program that was left for dead in both the Sun Belt and FBS as whole before Brown took over. Texas A&M could learn from a team like the Iowa State Cyclones hiring Campbell from the Toledo Rockets in terms of picking off a good Group of Five coach.

The Virginia Tech Hokies with Justin Fuente is another great example of a big time program with large expectations hitting the jackpot with a Group of Five coach. Fuente is also a rumored option for the Aggies, but not a very legitimate one.

Moreover, if Brown can defeat LSU with a team like Troy in one of the loudest stadiums in the nation, he could definitely do that with the Aggies. Sumlin never beat LSU during his six season tenure in College Station.
