4. Jimbo is a master recruiter

Along with his great head coaching, Jimbo Fisher is also a great recruiter. Those two things can make or break a coach’s career. Fisher will bring a few new pipelines to College Station.

Obviously Fisher has a handle on the state of Florida, but if you look closely he has strong control of the state of Virginia — Virginia is not as big as Florida when it comes to elite prospects but great players do come out of the state. It’s also a state other teams can easily come into and poach top athletes.

Most notably, his best player from Virginia is defensive back Levonta Taylor. If you look at the current Aggie roster, you see no players from the state of Virginia.

Jimbo Fisher can recruit anywhere in the nation, but being in Texas will give him a great advantage if he leaves Florida State for Texas A&M. If you combine Fisher’s handle of Florida and Virginia and mix it with the homegrown talent in Texas, Fisher could have national championship talent within two years of recruiting.
