Florida State Football: Players react to Jimbo Fisher’s departure

Florida State football is now down a head coach and Seminole players are reacting to Jimbo Fisher’s departure via social media.

Rumors have finally come to an end. Jimbo Fisher is no longer rumored to be taking the job at Texas A&M and leaving Florida State football, it has officially happened. In fact, the news of Fisher’s resignation from Florida State broke on Friday afternoon, but there was little shock.

The head coach who had led the Seminoles to a national title in 2013 will now be headed to the SEC in the same division as Auburn, LSU and Alabama. Life isn’t going to get much easier for the head coach, but it seems like his players were a upset with how he handled things.

It’s not the prettiest of situations and all of the Seminole players reacted in their own way. It seems as if they are hurt that Fisher didn’t meet with them beforehand and made this move behind the scenes.

Some Florida State players reacted to the news via social media, led by star quarterback Deondre Francois who had the most telling tweet. The communication was clearly not there throughout the process.

Surprisingly, not all of the reactions were negative. Derwin James and other Noles posted some positive tweets about their former coach.

It’ll be interested to see how the players react to whoever Florida State brings in as the next head coach. Rumors are flying about Willie Taggart and Justin Fuente, so we will have to wait and see. These kids just lost a major role model.
