1. Home cooking

When Stanford is home this year, they are undefeated. Every home game, except the Cal game was decided by six points or more.

But the road has not been kind to the Cardinal. Every game on the road has been decided by three points, except the USC game. Thank the football gods that championship game is in Santa Clara.

I think the Cardinal finally have a good “road” game. Stanford hasn’t played like itself on the road the whole season. David Shaw is too good of a coach to let that happen for a full campaign.

Coach Shaw has played this team before and will be up for the challenge. This game is basically a home game for the Stanford Cardinal because of the distance and the venue. Shaw and the Cardinal have never lost a Pac-12 Championship Game.

They will not start this year.

Note: David Shaw has the most Pac-12 Championship wins in the history of the game (3). Chip Kelly, Mark Helfrich and Chris Peterson are all tied with one.
