Jimbo Fisher’s drama-filled resignation process with Florida State has finally come to a close but should Texas A&M football fans be worried?
It’s finally happening. Jimbo Fisher has resigned from his head coaching position at Florida State and is expected to be named the new coach at Texas A&M. The move is shocking given the circumstances surrounding each program’s recent successes, but it seemed time for a change.
This all comes during a time when Fisher and the Florida State athletic department apparently didn’t see eye-to-eye on certain upgrades. The head coach reportedly wanted new state of the art facilities while the athletic department and boosters weren’t ready to spend a pretty penny.
With his requests unfulfilled, Fisher is reportedly out as the Seminoles’ head coach via resignation and will soon be named Texas A&M’s head man.

Texas A&M fans should be thrilled with this news as Fisher is one of the best coaches in college football and has a national title to his name. However, should they be weary of the actions of the head coach in recent weeks towards his then own fanbase?
If he’s willing to turn his back on Florida State and its fans that easily, what’s to say he won’t do the same to Texas A&M when things get tough? It’s been a poorly-handled situation by the head coach and Texas A&M needs to be cautious with Jimbo. He seems to be in the business of making demands and threatening to bolt if they aren’t met in a timely manner.
Fortunately, A&M has the facilities to make Jimbo a happy man for as long as he’s in College Station, but the way he handled the Florida State resignation has been a nightmare.
