Relationship with Josh Rosen

If Rosen does decide to declare early for the 2018 NFL Draft, he’ll leave Westwood on a good note. Kelly would also get to start fresh with a new starting quarterback in either four-star dual-threat Dorian Thompson-Robinson or redshirt freshman Devon Modster.

However, Rosen and Mora actually built a pretty good relationship in the three years spent together. Rosen also had the best season of his career this year while tossing 26 touchdowns to only 10 interceptions.

Both of the quarterbacks that Mora coached, Hundley and Rosen, turned out pretty good. Hundley is the backup to Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers and Rosen is destined to be a top three pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, if not the first overall. Chances are that Rosen does leave UCLA to make the jump to the NFL after his junior season.

The worst part of Rosen’s career was a season-ending injury he dealt with during the 2016 campaign. You could argue that’s the reason why UCLA only won four games last year. However, that’s not excusable, even with losing the star quarterback, for a program that consistently brings in as much talent as UCLA did during Mora’s tenure.
