Washington Football: 3 bowl game possibilities for the Huskies
By Zach Bigalke
3. Alamo Bowl (Alamodome/San Antonio, Texas vs. Big 12)
Out of the possible bowl games on the table for Washington, one of the venues they have visited more recently is the Alamodome in San Antonio. Back in 2011, the Huskies played one of the highest-scoring games of the bowl season when they fell 67-56 to Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III and the Baylor Bears.
In that visit to San Antonio, Washington fell behind in the first 15 minutes before a big second quarter gave them a 35-24 halftime lead. But the Bears came charging back, thanks less to the exploits of Griffin than of MVP running back Terrance Ganaway, who rushed for five touchdowns in the comeback victory. The 123 total points put up by the Huskies and Baylor set an FBS record for combined scoring in a bowl game.

Despite a quarter-century of existence, the Alamo Bowl has hosted Washington just that one time. They got an instant classic the first time around. It would make a lot of sense to bring the Huskies back a year after their Pac-12 championship season. If they get the call from the Alamo Bowl, Washington would get the chance to face a Big 12 school for the first time since that 2011 showdown against Baylor.
