3. USC

The USC Trojans boast one of the most talented offenses in the country in 2017. That offense is spearheaded by one of the best quarterbacks in sophomore Sam Darnold. Chances are that Darnold is gone by the time Patterson would be eligible to play.

If Darnold does decide to stay another year with the Trojans, Patterson would be the perfect understudy. He would also give USC head coach Clay Helton an established quarterback to look to after Darnold leaves.

USC is a proven destination for successful quarterbacks that can translate into a good NFL career. Moreover, the PAC-12 breeds offenses much stronger than the SEC because of the spread schemes so commonly run.

The most important factor is that USC has some stability right now in both coaching and recruiting. Patterson was surrounded by a strong receiving corps and the Trojans consistently recruit well at that position. It could be the deciding factor for Patterson to go with the school that can surround him with the best talent at the skill positions.
