Conference championships have been decided. How will the College Football Playoff selection committee sort out the teams in its final Top 25 rankings?

The first weekend of December is a time for conference championships to be settled. We saw some thrillers transpire on Friday night and throughout the final Saturday of the regular season. Now the College Football Playoff selection committee will sit down and parse out its final rankings for the 2017 season.

Some teams cut it closer than expected. Memphis acquitted itself much better in the American Athletic Conference championship game than they performed on the first visit to Orlando back in late September. But the Tigers fell 62-55 in double overtime as Riley Ferguson threw an interception on the final play of the game. That loss may or may not be enough to drop Memphis from the final College Football Playoff Top 25.

We are projecting the Tigers out of the rankings based less on their own performance than the other results that occurred around the country. It was one of several conference championship games that went down to the wire on the last full Saturday before the postseason.

Now all that is left is to catch the Army-Navy Game and see how wide the margin of victory is for Baker Mayfield in the Heisman voting. Keep reading to see where the best teams in the country will land in the final College Football Playoff rankings of the 2017 season.
