2. Turnovers are what seem to beat the Buckeyes

The one exception to the turnover issue beating the Buckeyes was the home loss earlier in the year to Oklahoma. The Buckeyes had just one turnover and still lost the game against the Sooners by 15 points. It was an ugly overall performance from the Buckeyes, but they rebounded to win six straight games.

Following that winning streak, the Buckeyes traveled to Iowa City to face the Iowa Hawkeyes and they forced a plethora of JT Barrett turnovers and ran away with a 31-point victory.

On Saturday night against Wisconsin, the Buckeyes knew that they had to hold on to the ball and avoid silly turnovers, but Barrett was sloppy yet again. Ohio State had three turnovers and two of those translated to points for Wisconsin. One was a pick-six inside the Buckeyes’ own 10-yard line.

Ohio State must be smarter with the ball and it starts with Barrett. The senior quarterback shouldn’t be making the silly mistakes he has been, such as misreading an easy out route inside his own 10. He can’t force a pass as it will come back to bite Ohio State.

Want to beat Ohio State? Force turnovers.
