1. Ohio State is good enough to be in the playoff — but probably won’t be

There’s no doubt about it, Ohio State is worthy of a playoff berth. Unfortunately, barring a miracle from the playoff committee, the Buckeyes will be playing in a New Year’s Six bowl instead.

Ohio State shot itself in the foot this season by not taking advantage of a prime opportunity to build its resume early on with a win over Oklahoma at home and completely fell apart against a borderline .500 team in the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Heck, if Ohio State had beaten the Hawkeyes, this would have been a play-in game for the playoff with the Buckeyes bordering the top-four as well. That’s not what happened though and the Buckeyes just couldn’t find a way to put together a full season.

From the bursts of greatness we saw from the Buckeyes, though, it seems as if this team could hang with anyone if it were to make the playoff.

Ohio State has a top-10 defense as well as offense — the only team in the country that can say that. The Buckeyes are explosive and have playmakers on both sides of the ball at each position. This team is scary when it’s on.
