Winning the bowl game in 2017 would give Texas A&M football a considerable amount of momentum before Jimbo Fisher takes over.

Texas A&M football finished the 2017 regular season on a disappointing note, with a 45-21 loss against the Aggies biggest rival in the SEC in the LSU Tigers. The loss to LSU cost head coach Kevin Sumlin his job and put Texas A&M as the fourth team in the SEC this year to fire the head coach.

However, the Aggies were the only SEC team to get bowl eligible and also fire the head coach. Too much mediocrity at the end of the Sumlin era put the Aggies fan base and boosters to a great degree of impatience. The lack of quality wins in the SEC West was also a problem under Sumlin.

The hiring of former Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher should give the Aggies a huge boost. However, Fisher does not officially take over in-game action until the start of the 2018 campaign. Texas A&M named special teams coach Jeff Banks as the interim head coach.

Last year, the Aggies faced the Kansas State Wildcats, out of the Big 12, in the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl, resulting in a 33-28 defeat. The Aggies could be looking at a second straight appearance in the Texas Bowl, but nothing is certain yet.

Texas A&M is on pace to possibly have another eight win season on tap. The Aggies hold a 7-5 (4-4 SEC) record right now. They also finished with an 8-5 (4-4 SEC) record last year. That underachieving consistency is a large reason why Sumlin is no longer the coach in College Station.

Here are the three most likely bowl game possibilities for the Texas A&M Aggies.
