Louisville football‘s junior quarterback , Lamar Jackson, is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy for the second consecutive year. He deserves to win again.

Louisville football has a quarterback in Lamar Jackson that makes the Cardinals an extremely exciting team to watch. Jackson won the Heisman Trophy last year and was named a finalist again in 2017. The other finalists for the Heisman include Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and Stanford running back Bryce Love.

Not having Penn State running back Saquon Barkley as a finalist is somewhat of a surprise, considering he was the front-runner for a good portion of the year. Yet, Jackson and Love both would be hard to not include with the stat lines they have.

Jackson had the most efficient season of his career while improving as a pocket passer. Louisville worked with Jackson during the off-season to make him more consistent and comfortable staying in the pocket, even when pressure is in his face.

We’ll find out on Dec. 9, in New York City, who will take the Heisman Trophy. Last year, Jackson took home that honor. There were four others that joined Jackson as Heisman finalists in 2016. Those four players were Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, Michigan defender Jabrill Peppers, Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook, and Mayfield.

Jackson’s production went under the radar this year, due to a down season from the Cardinals altogether. If not for a puzzling three-game losing streak to end the 2016 campaign, Louisville would have been one of the better teams in the nation.

Here’s three reasons Lamar Jackson should win the 2017 Heisman Trophy.
