Oklahoma football had a great weekend, winning the Big 12 title and earning a spot in the College Football Playoff. Rodney Anderson had a bad Monday.

Monday, though, has been a bit of a different story.

Running back Rodney Anderson’s name has hit the news headlines, as the star Sooner had a Victim’s Protective Order filed against him in Cleveland County court, according to a report out of Oklahoma by Dean Blevins.

Brooke Pryor of News OK is reporting that the emergency protective order was filed by a University of Oklahoma employee. A hearing is scheduled for December 18.

Anderson, a sophomore from Texas, ran for a team-high 960 yards and scored 11 touchdowns for Oklahoma this year. He also caught 16 passes for 283 yards with five more touchdowns.

It was a slow start to the season for Anderson, as he ran for just 34 yards over the opening five games. After a 48-yard performance against Texas, he broke free, rushing for 100-plus in four consecutive games.

Anderson had 147 yards against Kansas State, 181 against Texas Tech, 111 against Oklahoma State and 151 vs. TCU. He recorded four touchdowns and 118 yards in the regular season finale vs. West Virginia, adding 93 yards in the Big 12 Championship against the Horned Frogs.

Along with his 151 yards on the ground in the first meeting with TCU, Anderson also caught five passes for 139 yards and scored two touchdowns on balls thrown to him from Heisman finalist Baker Mayfield.

The 6-2, 218-pounder sat out all of 2016 due to an injury he suffered in August camp. He carried the ball one time for five yards in 2015 before going down with a leg injury against Tennessee that year.

“We’re aware and are gathering more information,” University spokesperson Michael Houck told News 9. Oklahoma is set to take on Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinal on January 1 from the Rose Bowl.
