Arkansas football has found its new head coach. After a three-year stint at SMU, the ex-Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris is a great hire.

Earlier today, the University of Arkansas and SMU head coach Chad Morris agreed to a deal that would make him the head man in Fayetteville.

Even though Morris had a losing record at SMU, he was slowly building that team’s culture. That is one of the big reasons why the Mustangs were 7-5 and finished fourth in their division behind UCF, Navy and Memphis just a few years after going 1-11.

The fans in Fayetteville should be happy about this hire. Morris will definitely be a big upgrade from Bret Bielema. Here are three reasons why Morris is a great hire for the Razorbacks.

3. Improved offense

My bold prediction for the 2018 Arkansas Razorbacks is that they will score more points. This year, the Mustangs had the eighth-best scoring offense. The Mustangs averaged 40.2 points per game while Arkansas was 63rd and only produced 28.8 points per game.

Since 2013, the Razorbacks only ranked above 50 twice. In 2013, the Razorbacks failed to average more than 21 points and were ranked 107th.

Chad Morris is an offensive guru. He is the man that created the Clemson offense we know today. In his four years with the Tigers, the Clemson offense never scored less than 30 points per game. During his tenure in Death Valley, he helped the Tigers to a 42-11 record.
