UCLA Football: 3 reasons Josh Rosen should forgo his senior season for NFL
Josh Rosen has an opportunity to head off to the NFL and skip his senior season, but should the UCLA football star do so?
Reports of Josh Rosen’s departure for the NFL surfaced recently and the junior quarterback felt as if he needed to address the rumors via social media on Thursday.
Obviously this isn’t something that he wants to worry about as he and the Bruins prepare for the Cactus Bowl on Dec. 26, but Kansas State might take advantage of the distractions. On top of that, UCLA has a new coach after Jim Mora was fired before the conclusion of the season.
With all this going on, this might just be the best time for Rosen to leave Los Angeles and enter his name in the 2018 NFL Draft. Here’s why the junior sensation should forgo his senior season and enter the draft.
3. Risk of injury too great
Josh Rosen has had injury concerns before. He missed a good chunk of the 2016 season due to injuries and that’s something that has to be in the back of his mind.
Coming back for another year could be detrimental to his health as the Bruins will be in a transition year with a new head coach and that could cause some uncomfortable play and might lead to a missed assignment which risks a quarterback’s health.
Does Rosen want to take a chance at returning to UCLA during a season in which the Bruins aren’t even guaranteed to contend in the Pac-12 South? Probably not. The injury risk is far too great and he has a prime opportunity right in front of his face.
