3. The game goes to overtime

This has been a close matchup for five of the last six years. Only in 2013 was the margin of victory more than seven points. In 2013, Navy beat Army, 34-7. The Black Knights upset Navy a year ago, 21-17, which has been the final score in this rivalry matchup the past two years.

With Army looking for their first Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy victory since 1996, I can see the Knights standing tall against their top foe the Midshipmen. Navy needs to stop Army for beating the Midshipmen in consecutive years for the first time since 1995-96.

As fans know, you can expect a lot of running and a very short game compared to the average college football game. The clock won’t be stopped from an excessive amount of passes like you see in some college football games. However, advertisers will get their monies worth because this one is going to overtime. I see this game coming down to field goals in overtime.

The Army kicker is 3-for-7 on field goals while Navy’s is 6-for-11. Football games are often won in the kicking game and this will be no different. Navy has the kicking advantage and I see that being the key to the victory for the Midshipmen.
