Wisconsin Football: Badgers’ linebackers coach Tim Tibesar to leave for Oregon State
Wisconsin football will be losing another coach to Oregon State, this time linebackers coach Tim Tibesar, who was announced as the Beavers DC on Monday.
A move that Wisconsin Badgers fans know all to well is taking place again as the football team will be losing another critical piece to the Oregon State Beavers.
Outside linebackers coach Tim Tibesar is expected to take the defensive coordinator position at Oregon State. Tibesar came to Madison in 2015 and has been a huge part of the Badgers’ elite defense over the past couple of seasons.
Credit is given to Tibesar for developing some of the best linebackers in the country during his time at Wisconsin, and given the adversity he experienced at his position makes the job done that much more impressive. In 2016, Wisconsin lost one of their starting linebackers in Chris Orr the first play of the game. More crucial, in 2017, the Badgers had injuries to star linebacker Jack Cichy, as well as others. This was on top of the fact that the team had lost Vince Biegel and T.J. Watt to the NFL.
The move does not come with much surprise as Tibesar had been overlooked a few times as the Badgers have made two moves at defensive coordinator since he has been there. The loss of Tibesar does come with some irony, however, as this will be the second time since 2014-15 the Badgers have lost a coach to Oregon State. Of course, the bigger move was back when then-head coach Gary Andersen abruptly left Wisconsin to head out west. Andersen was fired during the 2017 football season

Oregon State has also added two other assistant coaches since they cleaned house upon Andersen’s departure.
