Notre Dame is likely to lose two very important anchors in the middle of the defensive line. Junior nose guard Jerry Tillery led the team in sacks this season and his name rings among many NFL Draft rumors and early 2018 NFL Mock Drafts.

Moreover, senior defensive tackle Jonathan Bonner runs out of eligibility following the Citrus Bowl against the LSU Tigers. Both Bonner and Tillery were leaders along the Notre Dame defense and their absence will be felt next year.

Lucky for the Irish, they have a player coming in like four-star defensive tackle Jayson Ademilola that can compete for a starting spot. Considering the next two players on the depth chart for the Irish at defensive tackle and nose guard are both freshmen, Ademilola has a chance to come in and compete quickly.

There were 26 offers total that came Ademilola’s way. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes were both big suitors of Ademilola and it’s a huge win for the Irish to be able to land him over those two programs.
