The Huskies are going to lose one of the best, and most versatile, wide receivers in the nation following the Fiesta Bowl in senior star Dante Pettis. Yet, Petersen did a great job in filling the void almost immediately.

Four-star, and top signee in the class, Marquis Spiker is the eighth best receiver in the nation and gives the Huskies a replacement for Pettis. Freshman receiver Hunter Bryant showed just how good a first-year player can be in the UW offense.

Moreover, junior quarterback Jake Browning should return for his last season in Seattle, so Spiker will have a top-notch player looking his way. The UW receiving corps is very young and will get a quick injection of incoming talent in 2018.

Spiker also had offers from 13 other schools including the USC Trojans, Michigan Wolverines, and Oregon Ducks. Yet, he’s been committed to the Huskies for a while, since his original pledge came back in March.
