Wyoming Football: 5 bold predictions vs Central Michigan in Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
By Zach Bigalke
1. Josh Allen will return from his shoulder injury and impress NFL scouts
After injuring his throwing shoulder in the win against Air Force, Josh Allen has been out the past two games. Over that span, Wyoming lost both of its contests by a closer margin. One imagines that a healthy Allen would have put the Cowboys in better position to eke out another victory and head to Boise with the same record as their MAC opponent.
But Allen was out, and the Cowboys did lose to Fresno State and San Jose State to close out the regular season. He is likely going to return for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, however, and that bodes well for Wyoming’s chances to pull off the win.
Allen has thrown for more than 200 yards on just three occasions this season. Against the top passing defense in the MAC and one of the best defenses nationally, the Wyoming veteran will put up a big game that restores his position among the NFL hopefuls as we get closer to this spring’s NFL Draft.
Look for Allen to put up at least 250 yards and a couple of scores. Given how his numbers have looked throughout this season, that would put Wyoming in position to run away with victory on Friday night.
