The Arkansas linebackers do lose senior Dwayne Eugene before the 2018 season, and have a ton of rising sophomores to fill the void. Yet, none of those rising sophomores have as much raw talent as Lovejoy High School product Bumper Pool.

As the highest-ranked signee for the Hogs, Pool will play a huge role in determining his own fate with the Arkansas defense next year. Arkansas had trouble stopping everyone this season, an unusual site for the Razorbacks on that side of the ball.

Bielema usually fielded competitive defenses during his tenure in Fayetteville. However, this defense is in need of a major rebuild, and there’s no better player to do that than the top rated recruit in the 2018 class for the Hogs.

Pool could fit alongside rising senior weak-side linebacker Dre Greenlaw, to form a rejuvenated and competitive group of linebackers. As one of two four-star signees for the Hogs right now, Pool is a very valuable talent joining Arkansas in 2018.
