2. A battle of who wants it more will ensue on Saturday night.

Like I have mentioned, Texas Tech is battling to get above .500 on the season. They sit at 6-6 after a win against the Texas Longhorns gave them new life in terms of a post season berth. Now, they look to improve to 7-6 with a hopeful win over USF in the Birmingham Bowl. That team, coached by former Longhorn head coach Charlie Strong, sits at 9-2 on the season and was hoping to make a run at a New Years Six berth. However, a loss to Houston and UCF put those hopes on ice.

In my opinion, the desire and fight to have a winning season will be the difference for the Red Raiders on Saturday morning in Alabama. While USF has the fact that they were snubbed a New Years Six bowl, Tech barely made one. The thought that you almost missed out on post season should be enough to power the Raiders to victory.
