2. Texas finally lands on a quarterback, and may just stick with it

As bowl preparations continue, Texas is in the midst of a quarterback controversy. While it seems that Tom Herman is “pretty certain” that Shane Buechele will start at quarterback, all this mixing and matching of starters is sure to throw the Longhorn offense off just a bit. This decision came mostly from Sam Ehlinger‘s turnover happy performances as of late.

Buechele is a sophomore and Ehlinger a freshman, so the performances given on Wednesday at the Texas Bowl will surely have a huge impact on who becomes the starter in 2018. With this game deciding if Texas finishes with a winning season, it is quite important to Tom Herman and staff that their starting quarterback get the job done.

My bold prediction? While this game will likely be a losing effort for the Longhorns, a 2018 starter emerges in a game in which both players end up getting playing time.
