Missouri Football: 5 Reasons Tigers beat Texas at Texas Bowl
By Shelbie Warr
Missouri football is looking for their seventh straight win as they face off against Texas in the Texas Bowl. Can they pull out a win over the Longhorns?
The Missouri Tigers are on a six game win streak since starting the season 1-5. This hasn’t happened by accident. This isn’t luck. This team has come together in the most important kind of way. Now, the question is can they come together and get it done against Texas.
I think so and here are my five reasons why.
5. This Texas team isn’t even close to full strength.
The Texas Longhorns are not playing at full strength. Tight end Garret Gray, wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey and running back Toneil Carter are suspended for the game. Defensive tackle Chris Nelson will miss the game due to an elbow injury. Linebacker Malik Jefferson is struggling with a turf toe injury. Running back Chris Warren III has transferred. Left tackle Connor Williams, safety DeShon Elliott and cornerback Holton Hill will all forgo the bowl game in favor of the NFL draft.
That is nine players out for this bowl game. Nine. Can they overcome all of those missing players? Will they have enough players available to effectively run their offense? I don’t think so.
