Washington State football drew Michigan State in the 2017 Holiday Bowl. Here are five reasons the Cougars will beat the Spartans.

Washington State (9-3) put together an impressive 2017 season. The Cougars came close to their first Pac-12 North title but an Apple Cup defeat to their rivals kept them from a rematch with USC. The Cougars beat USC earlier in the season as well as Stanford, showing their not just a flash in the pan.

Michigan State (9-3) is just one year removed from a 3-9 finish. The Spartans picked up massive wins over Michigan and Ohio State. However, a crushing loss to Ohio State kept them out of the conference title race.

Both the Spartans and the Cougars came close to a conference title game appearance. One or two better bounces and a trip to the College Football Playoff could have been a possibility. And then there’s Mike Leach. This game will be worth following for his witty pressers if nothing else.

When it comes to the game, this one should be fairly cut and dry. Washington State will beat Michigan State in the Holiday Bowl. Here are five reasons to trust the Cougars.
