In the midst of upheaval, Mississippi State takes on Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals. Who will leave victorious on Saturday afternoon?

Mississippi State is in the middle of a major upheaval. Head coach Dan Mullen has left for Florida. Superstar quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is recovering from a severely dislocated ankle. Basically, everyone is trying to figure out what in the world is going on in Starkville.

Freshman Keytaon Thompson will attempt to start in the shoes of Nick Fitzgerald. He was 13-for-27 for 195 yards and a touchdown against Ole Miss after Fitzgerald dislocated his ankle in the early going against Ole Miss. Fitzgerald stood toe to toe with Alabama a few weeks prior. Those shoes are big ones to fill, that is for sure.

While the Bulldog defense has been strong and stout, however they have yet to face anything like what the Cardinals bring to the table.

Louisville is riding a three game win streak, being lead by 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. They are not the force to be reckoned with they were a season ago, but they are still extremely talented. In what will likely be Lamar Jackson’s final collegiate game, look for him to show up in a big way.

This one is going to be big for both teams. Here are my five bold predictions.
