2. Keytaon Thompson finds a way to score two touchdowns

Thompson is a big bodied, dual-threat quarterback that seems to fit well in with what Dan Mullen was putting together in Starkville. However, Mullen is no longer the head coach for Mississippi State. Instead, Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead has taken over the program now that Dan Mullen has left to coach the Florida Gators.

As a result, this game has become somewhat of an audition for Thompson for head coach Joe Moorehead. The Mississippi State quarterback coach seemed pretty proud of how far Thompson has come since enrolling in January. This match up on Saturday will give him the ability to show that on the big stage.

No matter what, all the eggs are in Thompson’s basket because the Bulldogs have no other options. It will be extremely important that he put everything he has into this game. He was the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year in 2016 and they will hope that the numbers and talent that gave him those numbers translate into his first start on the big stage — in the Taxslayer Bowl opposite one of the best in the game in Lamar Jackson.

My bold prediction? Thompson is able to get two touchdowns to his name. One will be passing and one will be rushing. However, it won’t be enough to out do the Cardinals.
